Colossians 1:18-20

18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.”

Thought;            Jesus is absolutely supreme.  All power and authority in heaven and on earth.  The very full essence of God was in Him even while He was here in human flesh.  He came and sacrificed that we might be reconciled to Him.  We have peace through His blood which is represented by this fruit of the vine we are about to drink.

Prayer;            Father we thank you for the love you have for us that you saw fit to become flesh and dwell amongst us.  Please strengthen us in our faith and our commitment that we may live worthy of the love you have shown for us.  Strengthen our awareness of your all supremacy and fill us with confidence in your ability to care for us and to vindicate us spiritually.  As we partake of this cup, we remember the covenant you have established with us through Christ, and we renew our commitment to that covenant.  Our desire is to be holy and that we would belong entirely to you.  We place ourselves fully in your care.  To you be thanks and praise.  Amen
