Objective:  Illustrate the concept of how the just live by faith.

Anyone who reads the Bible knows that “faith” is key to salvation.  Yet, we are sometimes confused as to what living by faith actually means.  Is it simple doctrine or is it more?  How is faith supposed to actually affect the way we live if we live by faith?  Romans 8 clarifies for us, a great deal of what it means to actually live by faith.  “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

God chose for His people to become like His Son, so that Jesus would be the “firstborn” among many.  In Romans 8:30. the Apostle identifies elements of a process by which we are changed to become the very image of Christ.  Such change involves generally involves some pain and suffering, but one cannot grow in Christ without change.  We need to be willing to suffer to be conformed to the image of Christ.
